Part One

Inciting Incident:
What happens to the protagonist to put her unavoidably in the path of the antagonist?
Although the Strawhats meant for Staithe Wharf to be a quick restock-and-rest side trip, the island seems to have other ideas. The arrival of a band of vicious sea-roving warriors and their King-captain complicate things, as does a mysterious masked stranger out for revenge, and their cook seems to be caught up in the center of everything. To make matters worse, he falls deathly ill at the most inopportune time, too weak and helpless to fight back when he is abducted and separated from everything he knows and cares about. In the midst of black despair, he finds a beacon of light in a monstrous form and comes face to face with the person pulling the strings on the island’s deadly machinations.

Internal Initial Conflict (call to action):
What does your protagonist most want? Why can’t she have it? How will she try to get it?
What Sanji most wants is to come to an understanding with Zoro after the final events of Thriller Bark, and maybe hopes for something more. Zoro, however, insists that ‘nothing happened’ and reacts to the point of actual harm against him. Confronting the swordsman is nothing but a disaster, and ignoring him a temporary bandaid, but eventually Sanji and Zoro come to a compromise and resolve to talk things out, once more.
